Derek Strong

Derek joined our team in May 2022 and is an Investment Advisor Representative through United Planners. Derek began his career in financial services in 2018 to continue to explore his passion for finance and economics. Derek specializes in comprehensive financial planning, investment advisory services, retirement distribution planning, wealth transfer and estate planning, tax strategies, and helping new families bring their finances together. Derek is general and uniform securities licensed (Series 7 & 66) and life and health licensed in several states. Derek is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire where he earned a BS in Business. In addition, Derek holds two professional certifications: he is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) and a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®). Derek says: “I started my career in finance to pursue my love for continued learning and helping others. Being a wealth advisor is extremely rewarding because I can share my passion with people every day, helping them become wealthier, wiser and more financially secure. Every person’s financial situation is different, consequently I help people in a vast number of ways.”
Derek lives in Saint Louis Park and loves spending time with family and friends. When Derek’s not in the office with clients, you’ll find him outdoors windsurfing, mountain biking, road biking, snowboarding, running, or golfing.
